Kanchipuram (Kanjivaram) silk sarees come from the temple town of Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu, home to one of South India’s best-known weaving traditions. The style is recognised by its rich silk body, bold contrast borders and pallus, and fine zari work. A hallmark of the tradition is korvai weaving, where the body and the border are woven separately and then interlocked, so the contrast border sits firmly with the body.

The peacock is a much-loved motif in South Indian textiles and stands for beauty and grace. Kattam is the traditional Tamil word for checks, a classic body design in Kanchipuram sarees.

Each Myllu Silks saree is handpicked by our founder for its weave, colour, texture and durability.

Colours may look slightly different in person because of photography lighting and screen settings. Small variations in the weave, zari and placement of motifs are natural in woven silk and are not defects. Blouse piece details may vary slightly from the photographs. Dry clean only. Please follow the care instructions to keep your saree looking its best. Please read our Shipping Policy, Return Policy and Refund Policy before placing your order.
